Erasmus+ Meeting in Portugal on 17th-23rd April 2022

The first fascinating Erasmus+ day with our Portuguese, Reunionese, Spanish and Welsh partners: Getting to know the extremely busy harbor services and the architecturally and scientifically impressive ocean research center in Porto. Boat trip along the river Douro and finally, a visit to Port wine cellars.

Our 2nd Erasmus+ day started with a meeting of the Mayor Ricardo Rio and a tour around the picturesque older part of the city. In the afternoon it was time for music and dance as well as for student presentations on ocean conservation in our respective countries.

- Oh, how our students impressed us with their skills and talent! The evening ended with a delicious Portuguese dinner with our wonderful hosts.
- Feeling blessed to be able to run an educationally enlightening program like this, and to continue close cooperation with our dearest long term partners in Europe.

A wonderful visit at the North Coast Natural Park of Esposende and the sand dunes of Ecovia took us for a long walk in a unique environment and biodiversity along the Atlantic coast. After a picnic, Nau Quinhentista, a replica of the ship of the Portuguese navigators in the 16th century. Finally, a superbly inspiring concert with Braga Traditional Cordophone Ochestra at the school theatre. - Enjoying every precious moment with our fabulous Erasmus+ family!

Thank you Laura, Ana Paula, Manuel and Lurdes for all the hard work you put into planning and organizing the wonderful program and arranging the host families for our students. Our school has been working on Comenius and Erasmus+ with you for over ten years now, and our cooperation has always been seamless. Once again, you excelled: the program was marvelous. It offered a little bit of everything: culture, history, religion, science, technology, outdoor activities and, of course, our very own sustainability. Yes, indeed, it was very impressive!

Obrigada to all Erasmus teachers in Sa de Miranda, Juan Antonio Perez, Lycee D'Avirons, Svenska Privatskolan and Laanila, you have become a vital part of our Finnish-Portuguese-Reunionese-Spanish-Welsh family that we can easily turn to when ever needed and with whom we always feel good and comfortable working with. Let's hope we can continue our cooperation and keep it that way in the near future too.

Multo obrigada to all our host sisters and brothers. To all our Portuguese moms and dads who have, with such open arms, welcomed our students into their houses and provided them with such an overwhelming hospitality and loving care. You have not only taken good care of our youth but you have also made unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you all the students that traveled with us to Braga. You have been courageous and energetic. The best part of this all has been to see you connect and make the most of the time we've had together. You have put smiles on our faces, you have showed responsibility and you have grown. We are so very proud of you.

When I think back of the week we had, I can easily admit that I fell in love. I fell in love with the white dunes and the foamy wave crests of the Atlantic Ocean, the green and fresh walking paths of Esposende, the beautiful cathedrals of Braga and the lively waterfronts of Porto.
We will cherish all these images and experiences in our hearts, and we will keep loving Portugal for the rest of our lives.
